Platte County junior quarterback Rocco Marriott has a list of achievements from the 2024 football season that is as long as his arm.
The Pirates’ state champion signal caller was recently named the Missouri High School Football Coaches Association’s (MHSFCA) Offensive Player of the Year. That comes on the heels of being named the KC Suburban Conference Blue Division’s Player of the Year along with being a finalist for the Simone Award given to the KC Metro Area’s best player. Marriott was also named to the Class 5 All-State First Team. Marriott threw for 3,077 yards and 39 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Marriott also rushed for 627 yards and 19 touchdowns for a total of 58 touchdowns on the season.
Marriott wasn’t alone on the All-State Team. Platte County Pirates All-State team also included TE Jack Utz (First Team), OL Quinn Lightle (First Team), DL Cameron Doyle (First Team), LB Brock Fowler (First Team), DB Trevor Hay (First Team), WR Braiden Stevens (Second Team), LB Darrell Smith (Second Team), RB Adam Gisler (Third Team), and WR Tres Baskerville (Third Team).
Platte County Pirate All-District players included QB Rocco Marriott, WR Tres Baskerville, WR Braiden Stevens, TE Jack Utz, RB Adam Gisler, OL Quinn Lightle, DL Kameron Doyle, LB Brock Fowler, LB Darrell Smith, DB Trevor Hay, LB Cobe Pollard, DL Cale Buntz, DB Cayden McGhee, RB Dayton Doll, and DB Montez Cleemons.
All-State Class 6 Team included Park Hill DB Dante Dixon (First Team), Park Hill WR Braylon Agee (Second Team), Park Hill DE Jonah Were (Third Team), Park Hill LB Owen Keller (Third Team)
Park Hill Trojans’ All-District players included QB Zane Thomas, WR Braylon Agee, DB Dante Dixon, DL Jonah Were, LB Owen Keller, WR Dante Dixon, DB Davion Seymour, WR Gage Dorrell, LB Sai’Quan Copeland, and DL Jacob Conway.
Park Hill South Panthers’ All-District players included WR Chance Taylor, LB Mason Wright, DL Brock Harmon, RB Tobi Falubi, OL Hudson Lundberg, DB D.J. Ford, K Asher Huffman, and P Asher Huffman.
All-State Class 1 Second Team Offense included West Platte RB Afton Buckler, North Platte RB Dylan Armstrong, and North Platte OL Cameron Wortham.
North Platte Panthers’ All-District players included LB Wyatt Spradlin, RB Dylan Armstrong, OL Cameron Wortham, DL Will Hartigan, DB Waylon McCracken, LB Johnny McCraken, OL Chase Harper, and P Aspen Large.
West Platte Blue Jays’ All-District players included LB Alex Allison, QB Kane Cogan, OL Dylan Jackson, TE Jhett Chandler, KR Alex Kinslow, RB Afton Buckler, and DL Cash Smith.
