Platte City Mayor Tony Paolillo last week presented the investigators of the Metro Squad a plaque in recognition of their exceptional efforts resulting in a swift resolution of the Nov. 15, 2023 homicide case in Platte City.
Paolillo expressed profound gratitude and admiration for their exceptional efforts to identify and arrest a suspect within a week of the homicide.
“The Metro Squad’s dedication to community safety and their exemplary teamwork have once again showcased their unwavering commitment to justice,” said Chief of Police Joe Wellington. “I commend the squad’s professionalism and exceptional skills. Their rapid response not only brought closure to the affected family but also exemplified the highest standards of law enforcement.”
Paolillo emphasized that the Metro Squad’s success serves as a shining example of effective collaboration, tireless dedication, and the pursuit of truth within the law enforcement community. The resolution of the case underscores Platte City’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.
Paolillo extended deep appreciation to the members of the Metro Squad No. 348 on behalf of the entire city and acknowledged the squad’s diligence, expertise, and their role as silent heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes.
