Rogers, Burgess and Hinton earn all-state after incredible fall

In the aftermath of a remarkable season for the North Platte softball team, nine players were recognized for individual achievements.

North Platte seniors Olivia Rogers (#8) and Jaylin Burgess (#2) were two of the three Lady Panthers to earn all-state honors this season.

Olivia Rogers, Jaylin Burgess and Carly Hinton were all not only awarded multiple postseason awards each, but also made it as all-state selections. Rogers made the first team, while Burgess and Hinton made the second team in all of Class 2.

Rogers erupted for 58 hits – including seven doubles and two triples – with a 0.592 batting average and 20 RBIs in her senior campaign. That impressive outing on the season also put Rogers on the first team sections in the All-Conference, All-District and All-Regional Teams.

Burgess made the First Team All-Regional, along with being a KCI Conference and Class 2 District 7 First Team selections. Burgess finished the season with a 0.484 batting average, 27 singles, 12 doubles, three triples, four home runs and 37 RBIs.

Along with the second team all-state selection, Hinton made the first team in North Platte’s conference, district and region as a catcher. Hinton was an offensive threat all fall, connecting with 27 hits and 14 RBIs on a 0.342 batting average.

Camryn Kersten was the final Lady Panther to make the first team all-region as the shortstop was also awarded a KCI Honorable Mention. Kersten wrapped up the season with a total of five home runs, 29 hits and 33 RBIs.

Sophomore third baseman Lindsay Ramsey had 23 hits – with six home runs – a 0.390 batting average and 36 RBIs this fall. That impressive offense put Ramsey on the Second Team All-Region and the First Team All-District while being a KCI Conference Honorable Mention.

Freshman Kate Wolf struck out seven batters in two postseason games, becoming one of three Lady Panthers to earn a First Team selection in the Class 2 District 7 Tournament. Wolf was also on the Second Team All-Region as a pitcher.

Kenedie Summers made the second team in districts as an outfielder after having four hits and one RBI in the postseason tournament. Brooke Kretzer, Courtney Dehn and Scarlett Slugantz made the all-district second team.
