Over the past three years, there has not been any Missouri girls basketball player to dominate in the way that Park Hill South's Addison Bjorn has.
The junior guard has been named the 2024-25 Gatorade Player of the Year for Missouri and is now a three-time conference player of the year after winning this season's highest conference honor in the Kansas City Suburban Conference Red Division.
"Addison is special," said Liberty coach Aaron Neeser via press release. "I have been doing this for 25 years and she is the single-best player I have coached against. She is incredible. Her ability to guard 1-5 and score against any type of player and defense is the best I have seen."
The 2024-25 season was the best of Bjorn's high school career, leading the conference in four key statistical categories with 635 points, 337 rebounds, 95 assists and 95 steals. She averaged a double-double for the second straight season, this time with nearly 22 points and 12 rebounds per game.
The 6-foot-2 star's remarkable season showed critical improvement from the previous year as she guided the Panthers toward the conference title. She improved from shooting 40% from the field and 25% from beyond the arc as a sophomore to 56% from the field and 35% from deep this year.
Bjorn, a 2025 Naismith Award Honorable Mention All-American selection, was named all-conference alongside Panther senior guard LaNicia Parker. Parker became Park Hill South's second-leading scorer in her only season with the Panthers, averaging nearly 15 points per game and knocking down 50 from beyond the arc.
Anaya Guess and Ava Kells also leave Park Hill South as all-conference honorable mentions. Kells was a top-10 shot-blocker in the conference, tallying 18 throughout the season. Guess was a skillful ball-handler who finished the season among the top-five 3-point shooters in the conference as she shot 32% from beyond the arc and was third with 89 assists. All four honorees played integral roles in the Panthers' first-ever undefeated regular season before bowing out in the district title game.
The Trojans of Park Hill were also well-represented with postseason honors in the Red Division. Senior forward Boston Wand and freshman Audrey Sims were named all-conference as they helped their team to a district semifinal.
Wand was a dominant force in the post as a top-five scorer in the conference and third in rebounds. Sims proved that the future of the program is in safe hands after her breakout season as the Trojans' second-leading scorer with 11.1 points per game and was a 33% shooter from 3-point range.
Senior guard Lydia Keller was also an all-conference honorable mention as the third-best 3-point shooter in the conference with 44 triples. Keller and Wand pass the torch on to Keller for next season as the Trojans look to build from a promising run at the end-of-season run.
