Brown selected to Class 5 All-State

Platte County senior Kate Brown finished her Pirate career off with a selection on the Class 5 All-State Team. Brown was also a first team selection in the Suburban Kansas City Blue Division and in the Class 5 District 16 Tournament.

Kate Brown’s long list of accomplishments as a member of the Platte County volleyball team continues to grow.

Following another impressive season, the senior hitter was the only Pirate to make the Class 5 All-State Team. Brown was also on the first team in the Suburban Kansas City Blue Division and in the Class 5 District 16 Tournament.

Brown helped lead Platte County to a 24-10 overall record and a second-place finish in districts in her senior campaign. The senior hitter also was a key contributor to the 2020 Pirate season when they finished in third place at state.

Offensively, Brown had 60 attacks, 336 kills, 212 total points and 20 assists this fall. Defensively, Brown finished with 240 receptions, 255 digs and 20 blocks.
