Park Hill South senior Hana Bytyqi and sophomore Ainsley Arnold are the only two returning tennis players after having more than 50 seniors leave the program since 2021.
Bytyqi will be the number one coming off an all-state junior campaign and Arnold will be the number two. The rest of the roster has been set ahead of the fall as Park Hill South’s main goal at this point is to grow.
“This is the fewest amount of returning varsity players that we have had at South in over a decade,” Park Hill South head tennis coach Ian Cunliff said. “A number of players with less experience will have to step up.”
Hannah Draut and Presley Davis will be the number three and number four players, while Norah Pruitt and Abby Sloan will fill out the roster. Davis is a sophomore and the others are seniors.
“We will have to step into competition and get competitive experience very quickly. Our focus is always one match ahead; however, one of our goals is always to compete at our best against Park Hill,” Cunliff said.
