Platte County baseball coach Rob Davenport has been placed on administrative leave, according to Platte County District Spokesperson Laura Hulett.
Hulett said Davenport is being investigated for a possible violation of a school board policy.
Davenport, who teaches science at Platte County High School, will have a substitute in class and assistant coaches will assume the head coach role until the investigation is completed.
The Pirates are currently 8-6 on the season and 3-1 in the Suburban Conference Blue Division. The Pirates were scheduled to play 11 games in the next 12 days starting with a game at home vs. Winnetonka on Wednesday, April 25, before hosting Excelsior Springs on Thursday, April 26.
Davenport was the head coach in the Pirates final game of the Northland Invitational against Park Hill South on Thursday, April 19.
