The Trojans relied on their defense and outside shooting to take down Liberty North (6-8) 67-52 when the Park Hill boys’ basketball team (8-6) forced 18 turnovers and made nine 3-pointers on Jan. 18.
Park Hill and Liberty North were in a back-and-forth battle early in the contest with the Trojans clinging to a 17-16 lead after the opening frame. Park Hill extended its lead to 31-25 at halftime and continually added to the margin until the final buzzer sounded.
The Eagles trailed by 15 points entering the fourth quarter and the Trojans didn’t let up to bounce back after two consecutive losses. Park Hill’s top three scorers ended with at least 15 points and shot at least 57 percent from the field.
Marqueas Bell made three of his four 3-point attempts and the junior finished with 24 points. Ty Schreck also sunk three shots from behind the arc and Kendrick Bell converted on one trey and had three steals as the Trojan duo both scored 15 points.
Park Hill ended the night with 10 steals defensively en route to receiving its second win of the season against the Kansas City Suburban Conference Gold Division opponent. The Trojans will be hosting their next game when Raymore-Peculiar heads to Park Hill High School on Jan. 28.
