After four days of arguments, a Platte County jury took only two hours to determine the verdict in the trial of Grayden Denham — guilty, of all charges.
Jurors were given instruction and sent to deliberation at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14. They returned with a verdict at around 4:30 p.m.
Retired judge James Van Amburg is presiding over the trial, which had been scheduled, cancelled and rescheduled numerous times over the past five years.
Denham, 30, was found guilty of murdering his grandparents, his sister and infant nephew in 2016.
The jury also found him guilty of setting fire to the family home, stealing his grandparents’ vehicle and other charges including animal cruelty.
Denham remains in custody at the Platte County Detention Center on a $4 million cash-only bond and was present for the jury trial.
Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 25, 2022.
