Fricker announces commission run

Scott Fricker announced his candidacy for Platte County Presiding Commissioner on Friday, Sept. 17 at the home of Bill and Abby Olson and again on Thursday, Sept. 23 at a gathering of the Platte County Federated Republican Women at Platte Ridge Park in Platte City.

Fricker is running to fill the seat currently held by retiring presiding commissioner Ron Schieber and said in a press release he plans to continue Schieber’s commitment to limited government and fiscal responsibility.

“As your Platte County presiding commissioner, my top priorities will be economic prosperity and public safety, the two most important requirements for Platte County to continue to lead the region as a great place to live and work”, Fricker said.

Fricker lists as his qualifications the owner of a successful small business for more than 20 years, past chair of the Platte County Board of Equalization, former member of the CARES Act Small Business Advisory Committee, and current member of the Platte County Industrial Development Authority.

Fricker has been a Platte County resident for more than 15 years, been married to his wife Kelly for 22 years, and has two sons, Luke and Will, ages 18 and 20. Primary elections will be held on Aug. 2, 2022 and the general election will be held on Nov. 8, 2022.
