The Platte County Pirates’ golf team finished second, and senior Ella Green won her second title at the 2024 Kansas City Suburban Conference White Division Championship on Monday, Oct. 8, at Hoots Hollow Golf Course.

Green shot a winning round of 73, followed by Grace Handke, who finished eighth for the Pirates with a score of 100. Macie Garland shot a score of 111, followed by Emma Mizell with a score of 113, and Izzie Grell with a score of 118.

“We are very proud of how the team played today,” Pirates’ Head Coach Trevor Short said in a statement. “They did a great job out on the course and came away with a very respectable finish. Now it’s time for us to focus on the District Tournament.”
The District Championship will be played this Monday, Oct. 14, at Eagles’ Landing Golf Course in Belton.
“We have had a few rounds at the course and have a general idea of how to play the difficult holes,” Short said.
Green is playing good golf down the stretch. Last week, she finished tied for second at the Liberty North Invite at Winterstone by shooting a 78. Handke finished 54th with a score of 111.
