In the aftermath of one of the best seasons in recent memory for the Platte County girls’ basketball team, four Lady Panthers played well enough to receive White Division honors in the Kansas City Suburban Conference.
Platte County fell short in the Class 5 District 8 Championship but made it that far for the first time since 2011. Two of the four Lady Pirate seniors earned postseason honors.
Joslynn Hupp made the first team in the White Division after leading Platte County in scoring. The senior scored 9.8 points per game, while also grabbing 6.6 rebounds, dishing out 1.4 assists and one steal.
Addy Schlake made the most of her time starting, earning second team honors as the sophomore post averaged 6.4 points and 7.6 rebounds, while tying Hupp with a team-high 14 total blocks. Junior Lydia Doole and senior Reese Pickett were White Division Honorable Mentions.
Doole was the top perimeter shooter for the Lady Pirates – being responsible for 39 of Platte County’s 84 made shots from behind the arc – all the while scoring 6.8 points and dishing out a team-high 2.6 assists per game. Pickett has spent a lot of minutes on the varsity court in her time at Platte County, wrapping up her senior campaign with averages of 7.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.8 steals.
