A Kansas City, Kan., resident has been sentenced to three years in prison following a pursuit in Platte County that occurred July 19, 2016.
Veronica E. Freeby, 28, was given a three year sentence in the department of corrections, to run concurrent with a Kansas charge, on March 15 in Platte County following a plea agreement for resisting arrest by fleeing.
Freeby was given five days in jail, credit for time served, for careless and imprudent driving and fined $150 for driving while revoked/suspended.
A deputy tried to stop Freeby for driving a stolen 2007 Chevrolet Impala on July 19, 2016, at the intersection on Interstate 29/Interstate 435.
She drove into the on-coming lane of traffic on Missouri 92 and speeds reached more than 100 miles per hours on Interstate 435, with Freeby passing cars on the shoulder.
She was driving with a suspended license from Kansas at the time of the pursuit.
