The North Platte volleyball team snapped a five-game losing streak when the Panthers swept Hamilton for the second time this season on Sept. 23.
Following a 2-0 victory over the Hornets in the KCI Tournament on Aug. 28, the Panthers didn’t allow their conference rival to win a set in the regular season rematch. The first set was the most dominating set that North Platte has played all year as it only allowed two points.
After losing 25-2, Hamilton responded with a more competitive set when the second set went into extra points. North Platte pulled out the second set 26-24 to take a 2-0 lead on the match and momentum in the third set.
North Platte prevailed 25-13 in the final set to take down Hamilton 3-0 on the day and give the Panthers back-to-back road wins, excluding tournament play. Bailey Richardson set her teammates up well in the contest as she ended with 16 assists.
Brooke Meadows led the team with nine aces while Tara Owens ended with a team-high 10 kills.
Kylee Sipes finished the match with 14 digs while Owens and Richardson ended with one block each. North Platte’s next match is Sept. 30 when it heads to Lawson.
