Lady Pirates bounce back, sweep Pembroke Hill

Following the Pirates’ first loss in their last 11 matches, the Platte County volleyball team is back on the right track as they defeated Pembroke Hill 3-0 on Sept. 29.

When Platte County headed to Pembroke Hill, the Pirates swept the Vikings. Despite taking all three sets, Platte County didn’t win them with ease as Pembroke Hill scored more points than the last in every set.

Platte County won the first set 25-17 and took the second set by a score of 25-19. The Vikings made a late surge in the third set, but the Pirates won 25-20 to give Platte County a 3-0 victory in the match.

Kate Brown ended the match against Pembroke Hill with 17 kills and 11 digs, while Mary Grace Hunter added nine kills and 10 digs, and Morgan Cox ended with 16 digs. Kendall Johnson finished with eight kills and Emerson Walter finished with 32 assists.
