Lady Panthers struggle at Blue Springs South

The Lady Panthers struggled in the Blue Springs South Tournament when the Park Hill South volleyball team lost all four of its matches on Oct. 2.

The tournament began with some pool play ahead of the elimination play and Park Hill South had to take on Blue Springs, Lee’s Summit and Nixa in the Blue Pool. The Panthers’ first opponent was Blue Springs with the Panthers losing, 2-1.

Blue Springs won the first set, 25-20, before Park Hill South bounced back to take the second set by a score of 27-25. However, the Panthers fell short to the Wildcats in the third set, 25-19.

Park Hill South then took on Lee’s Summit and the Tigers swept the Panthers in 2 sets. Park Hill South ended the pool play against Nixa. The Eagles won the first set 25-23 and the Panthers evened up the match 1-1 when Park Hill South won the second set by a score of 25-20.

Despite the comeback attempt, Park Hill South fell in the final set, 25-15, to exit the pool play without a win. In the open play, Park Hill was the opponent waiting for the Panthers.

Park Hill took down the Panthers in three sets to eliminate Park Hill South from the tournament. The Panthers look to bounce back when they face Lee’s Summit once again, this time in the regular season, on Oct. 7.
