The Park Hill volleyball team won two of its five matches in the Blue Springs South Tournament on Oct. 2.
The Trojans began the tournament in the Green Pool, along with St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Dominic and Blue Springs South. Park Hill struggled at first as it lost its first two matches in the tournament.
Park Hill’s first match was against St. Dominic when it fell 2-1. The Trojans then took on St. Thomas Aquinas and lost both sets before taking on Blue Springs South and defeating the Jaguars in three sets.
After pool play was over, Park Hill found itself matched up with its rival Park Hill South. The Trojans bested the Panthers 2-1 to move on to the next round.
For the next contest, Park Hill was matched up against Francis Howell in a highly competitive match with all three sets being decided by two points. The Trojans took set one 25-23 before falling in the second set by a score of 26-24.
The Vikings and Trojans were in another tight set to determine who moves on and Park Hill fell just short of the victory as it lost, 26-24. The Trojans’ next match will be on Oct. 7 when they head to Blue Springs South.
