Lady Trojans take down Lady Pirates on back-to-back days

Platte County’s Lily Ricketts ended with 44 strokes against Park Hill on Aug. 31.

In the second matchup against each other in the short season, the Park Hill girls’ golf team defeated Platte County in a match at Tiffany Greens Golf Club on August 31.

After coming out on top in the Pirate Invitational the day before on a tiebreaker, the Lady Trojans once again slipped past Platte County. This time it was by a score of 168 to 179.

The top performer on the day was a Lady Trojan. Makenna Kincheloe topped off the match with a score of 36 to claim first place.

Reagan Bell was fourth overall with 42 strokes, with the next Park Hill golfer being Kate Martorana in seventh place with 41 strokes. Layni Grego and Rhea Akula rounded off the top-20 with 49 and 51 strokes.

For Platte County, Ella Green was the best golfer on the team when she finished with 41 strokes. Lily Ricketts was three strokes behind, and Baily Silcott had 46 strokes, while Mackenzie Borland and Brylie Kovar both ended with 48 strokes.

Platte County will have a tournament against St. Joseph’s Central at Moila Country Club on September 8. Park Hill will have a match against Pembroke Hill and St. Teresa’s Academy at Brookridge Golf  Club on September 8.
