A Kansas City man is facing four total charges – two felonies – after getting arrested late last month in Dearborn.
Gregory A. Hicks Jr., 32, was arrested on March 23 on allegations of felony first-degree harassment and misdemeanor sexual misconduct.
The courts entered a not guilty plea for Hicks on March 25 and he is set to return to court on April 16 in front of judge Quint Shafer. Hicks is currently being held in lieu of a $15,000 cash only bond.
Platte County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 104A W. Third Street in Dearborn on a report of a man masturbating in public.
The calling party reported a man was on a bench in public that pulled down his pants and started to masturbate while staring at the passengers a vehicle that pulled up to the apartments, according to court documents.
When he was noticed, Hicks allegedly stood up and walked away through an alley on March 22.
The man was described as being 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds with reddish/brown hair and facial hair, wearing a white t-shirt, baggy gray sweatpants and glasses. Deputies couldn’t find the said subject.
Two victims told officers the suspect sent them Facebook friend requests under the name of Mike Jones, but the account had the Snapchat name of GJHicks7 listed.
A resident contacted deputies and showed them a Facebook post of a suspicious vehicle, a blue van, that has been around the Dearborn and Camden Point area.
Multiple posts were made about the van driving slow in Camden Point and Dearborn while watching children, documents stated.
A license plate was provided and it came back registered to Hicks. When a Department of Revenue driver’s license photo was located, both victims positively identified Hicks was the one that was staring.
Deputies went to 204 N. May Street, Apt. 6, in Dearborn in attempted to contact Hicks’ parents and the suspect opened the door at 2:30 a.m. on March 23.
Hicks was wearing the same clothes that were described by the victims.
