Man shot at Platte City’s Quality Inn

The Platte City Police Department is investigating a shooting at a hotel early Monday morning.

Platte City police and the Platte County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Quality Inn, 1201 Branch Street, on a call of shots fired at about 3:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26.

An adult male was found at the hotel with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to a local hospital and underwent emergency surgery. His condition is unknown as of press time.

According to a statement from the Platte City Police Department, police are interviewing witnesses. It is believed the shooting occurred within a hotel room with no other injuries reported. No arrests have been made as of press time.
