Despite losing in the first round of the Class 5 District 8 Tournament, three players from the Park Hill South softball team were selected to the all-district first team.
The three Panthers to be selected on the postseason team were senior catcher Jolie McMinn, senior outfielder Kara Hagen and freshman infielder Erin Stewart. Park Hill South lost its first postseason contest to St. Joseph’s Central, 2-1, on Oct. 12.
McMinn put out three Central runners in the first round of the Class 5 District 8 Tournament. The senior led Park Hill South will total hits in the regular season with 42, including eight home runs.
Hagen had two of the Panthers’ six total hits in the district contest, two of which were singles. Hagen finished the 2021 regular season with 34 hits – 29 singles and five doubles – and 12 RBIs on offense, while ending with 23 putouts on defense.
Stewart led the Panthers in putouts against Central when the infielder had six putouts in her first career postseason game. Stewart finished her freshman campaign with a team-high 176 putouts, along with 25 hits and 10 RBIs.
