After finishing with a 6-3 conference record and reaching the district semifinals, the Park Hill South girls’ basketball team has four players who earned postseason honors.
The Lady Panthers’ sophomore duo of Regan Williams and Avery Simmons earned a spot on the all-district team and the Red Division First Team All-Conference. In the Class 6 District 8 Tournament, Williams averaged 10 points and seven rebounds, while Simmons averaged eight points, 3.5 rebounds and one block.
The sophomores were Park Hill South’s leading two scorers throughout the year and combined for 13 total made 3-pointers. Williams was the more efficient scorer, averaging 14.3 points on 46 percent shooting while also grabbing 7.4 rebounds, blocking 1.2 shots and ending with 1.9 steals.
Simmons was one of the five Park Hill South starters this season and joined Williams as the only Lady Panther averaging double digit points. Simmons scored 10.5 points per game, snagged 5.1 boards and averaged one steal.
Jayme Dixon ended her senior campaign on a high note and was a Red Division Honorable Mention. Dixon made the second most made shots from behind the arc for Park Hill South when the guard converted on 23 of her attempts.
Dixon was the third highest scorer for the Lady Panthers, averaging 6.5 points. The senior also led Park Hill South with 73 total assists – good for 2.7 per game – and was second in steals with 47 total.
Tatum Kells was a force down low as the Lady Panthers’ starting post was also a Red Division Honorable Mention. Kells averaged 6.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.6 blocks.
After the Park Hill South boys’ basketball team took down Oak Park by 18 points to reach the Class 6 District 8 Semifinals, Cahmai Crosby led the way for three Panthers who had all-district honors
Crosby made the all-district team when he led the Park Hill South boys in scoring. J.D. Roberts and Miles Fant were both Class 6 District 8 Honorable Mentions.
