The Panther doubles team of Vivien Hamilton and Sydney Dial stole the show when the Park Hill South duo finished in first place at the Suburban North Tournament on Sept. 25.
Overall, the Panthers ended in third place when the Park Hill South girls’ tennis team competed against its conference opponents. Park Hill South also had the doubles team of Ellie Eason and Kate Eason finish in third place among doubles teams.
Hana Bytyqi impressed in the singles competitions as the Panther ended in third place overall. Camille Verhoeven ended in fifth place.
Park Hill South entered the tournament after defeating Oak Park 8-1 on Sept. 23. Three of the six Panthers won their singles matches 8-0 while Hamilton won her match by a score of 8-1.
Kate Eason outplayed her opponent 8-3, but Ellie Eason lost her singles match 8-3.
All three of Park Hill South’s doubles teams beat Oak Park. The top two teams won 8-0, while Ellie Eason and Verhoeven pulled their match out by a score of 8-1.
Following the weekend tournament, Park Hill South hosted Kearney. The Bulldogs put up a bit of a fight, but the Panthers were too much for them as Park Hill South won the match, 8-0.
Bytyqi and Dial were the only Panthers to win their singles match 8-0, but Hamilton beat her opponent 8-1. Kate Eason pulled out her match with a close 8-5 victory, while Ellie Eason and Verhoeven both won by a score of 8-4.
