Park Hill’s losing streak hit three straight in a Suburban Conference Gold Division opener Monday, Aug. 28 at Park Hill District Soccer Complex in Riverside, Mo.
Lee’s Summit scored the opener of a 2-0 win in the 31st minute and added the second in the closing minutes of the matchup. Park Hill entered off of a fourth-place finish in the Liberty Kickoff Classic, having reached the semifinals before losing two straight.
Park Hill (1-3, 0-1) continues to play with a five-man backline but has struggled to score again this season. The Trojans have been shutout in back-to-back games and lost on penalty kicks in the Liberty Tournament semifinal.
Continuing Gold Division play, Park Hill is scheduled to play at Raymore-Peculiar on Wednesday, Aug. 30 and at Lee’s Summit North on Thursday, Aug. 31.

The Trojans suffered a second straight loss to finish off the Liberty Kickoff Classic.
For the first time in three games, Park Hill failed to score in the third-place game held Thursday, Aug. 24 in Liberty, Mo. East was a Class 3 quarterfinalist a year ago.

The Trojans dropped into the third-place game after a shootout loss in the semifinals Tuesday, Aug. 22.
In the second half, Park Hill overcame a 1-0 deficit after Lee’s Summit North converted a penalty kick in the 60th minute to take the lead. The Trojans equalized five minutes later on a counterattack with Jack Austin setting up a shot for Chris Munoz, who buried a goal from 25 yards out.
Regulation and overtime ended with the game still tied. Lee’s Summit North converted all four penalty kicks, while Austin, Aaron Simpson and Chris Munoz hit shots for Park Hill, which also had two misses.
