The Park Hill South boys’ basketball team (3-2) bounced back from its home opener loss with a prolific win over Blue Springs South (0-6) on Dec. 14.
The Panthers pounced the Jaguars 61-29 when they jumped out to an early lead and didn’t let up. Three Park Hill South players scored double digits and nine players were able to get on the scoreboard.
Despite not converting on a single shot from behind the arc and shooting just 56 percent from the charity stripe, the Panthers finished with a season high in points. Park Hill South forced 12 Blue Springs South turnovers on defense, while shooting 53 percent from the field on offense.
Junior Cahmai Crosby led all scorers with 15 points when he converted on seven of his 11 field goal attempts. Colby Kiedrowski and Miles Fant both finished with 10 points and two steals in the contest.
Jack Bjorn had a season-high six points, eight rebounds and two blocks, while J.D. Roberts ended the contest with eight points, six rebounds and two assists. The Panthers will end the 2021 calendar year at the William Jewell Holiday Classic in the Holley Division, starting with a matchup against Van Horn (1-3) on Dec. 28 at 6 p.m.
