Despite the flooding earlier this year, Parkville is ready to party at the annual Parkville Days festival this weekend.
Parkville Days features a variety of family-friendly entertainment, arts and crafts, retail, food and specialty booths. The Evans Midland Empire Carnival is open all weekend. Bring lawn chairs to enjoy live music along the Missouri River and on Main Street. Admission is free, with the festival spanning downtown Parkville and Platte Landing Park.
Festival hours are 6-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.
A parade will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday at Northwest 63rd street and Highway 9 and run down Main Street. Other events include specials at the carnival, a pancake breakfast at the American Legion and a free yoga session.
Musical performances include the School of Rock, Blue Orleans, Allied Saints, Quinn Harvey and more.
