Platte County soccer's Peterson back on record setting goal pace

Chandler Peterson put himself back on record-setting pace with a season-high seven goals in Platte County’s 10-0 win over Winnetonka on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Platte County High School.

After scoring just one goal in his previous two matches, Platte County’s senior forward broke out in a Suburban Conference Blue Division matchup. Peterson completed his hat trick before halftime with goals in the second, eighth and 17th minutes.

Platte County sophomore forward Chase Peterson also set up junior Blake Cochran for a goal in the 15th minute, and the Pirates went into halftime up 4-0.

Chandler Peterson scored the first four goals of the second half (48th, 56th, 60th and 62nd minutes) — the last three on assists from Cochran. The match ended with one minute left after a goal for Tanner Ride to make it 9-0 in the 75th minute and own goal in the final minute.

Platte County improved to 6-0 in Blue Division play with the win.

Chandler Peterson scored five more, and the Pirates hit the 10-goal mercy rule 10 minutes into the second half Thursday, Sept. 28 in St. Joseph, Mo.

Platte County led 5-0 after 15 minutes with two goals each for Chandler Peterson and Ride and one for Colton Grisham. Peterson finished his hat trick in the 22nd minute and added his fourth before halftime.

Going into the break, Platte County led 8-0 after Ethan Dolan scored his first goal of the season on an assist from Cochran. Chandler Peterson set up Chase Peterson for a goal 3 minutes into the second half, and Chandler Peterson’s fifth goal in the 50th minute ended the match.
