Platte County starts fall with a splash

In the opening home competition of the fall for the Platte County boys’ swim team, the Pirates took second place out of five teams on August 30.

Keith Palmer won two individual races – the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard freestyle – while also leading the 400-yard freestyle to a first-place finish and the 200-yard medley relay to second place.

Collin Burton was the first swimmer to complete the 50-yard freestyle when he finished in 24.28 seconds and Brayden Carter took fourth place in 25.87 seconds. Burton also collected third place in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.65 seconds.
