The Park Hill South, Park Hill and Platte County girls’ cross-country teams competed in the KC Classic as Trojan sophomore Natalie Gerdes finished in eighth place at Raymore-Peculiar on Oct. 2.
Gerdes crossed the finish line in 19:01 as the top finisher for the girls at Platte County schools. The next finisher was Panther junior Ella Conklin, who ended in 20:32 for 52nd place.
Kayla Richardson ran the 5K in 21:32 and Abigail Kindred finished in 21:55 for Park Hill South. Macy Strobel and Delaney Nash both finished in 22:05, but Strobel was 0.3 seconds faster than Nash.
For Park Hill, the second finisher was Jordan Umstattd when the sophomore ended the race in 74th place with a time of 21:00. Abby Stevens finished in 21:55 and Reagan Kastner ended in 23:58.
Sisely Mitchell was the fastest Pirate at the KC Classic as the sophomore ended in 19:58, earning 35th place. Sloan Kassen ended with a time of 22:27 and Lilliana Kytasaari finished with a 22:37 time.
Platte County’s next two runners to cross the finish line were Julia Greco and Madison Palmer. Greco finished with a time of 23:12 and Palmer ended with a 23:30 time.
There were 263 girls who ran in the KC Classic, including 31 teams. Park Hill South earned 17th place, Park Hill ended in 19th place and Platte County finished in 24th place.
