The Platte County girl’s golf team got first place at the Pirate Invitational on August 30 at Shiloh Springs Golf Course with 346 points.
Eden Shipp was the top finisher for the Pirates as she shot 81, which is tied for the Platte County school record for a low round and is held by her sister, Kasydie Shipp. Eden Shipp tied for second on the day with that score.
“The Pirates had a great day,” Platte County head coach Trevor Short said. “The team played well and produced some very quality scores.”
The next finisher for Platte County was Bailey Silcott who shot an 84 and ended in fifth place overall. Ella Green and Lilly Ricketts ended in tenth and eleventh place as Green finished with 90 strokes and Rickets ended with 91 strokes.
“Bailey Silcott set a personal low round record for a tournament. Green and Ricketts also had some very nice scores on their first individual tournament of the season,” Short said.
Wren Wilkins tied for 20th place with a score of 101 to wrap up the Pirates first team performance. On the second team, Platte County’s Mackenzie Borland ended with 88 strokes in seventh place overall followed by Brylie Kovar in 35th place and Ava Villarreal in 38th place.
“Mackenzie Borland played on the second team and produced a very respectable score that placed her in the top-10 individuals. We will keep adjusting our line up and seeing what each player is capable of in order to put the best team out on the course,” Short said.
