Price tag for state audit of Ferrelview could cost village $40K

The price tag for the state audit of the Village of Ferrelview has gone up, according to the chair of the board of trustees.

At the November regular meeting of the board, chair Phil Gilliam told board members the state audit was not yet complete. The audit, conducted by the office of Missouri Auditor Nicole Galloway, was triggered through a petition effort led by current trustee Theresa Wilson. Ferrelview is required to foot the bill for the audit.

Gilliam said the estimated price tag was about $25,000-$30,000, but he has since been notified the village will be forced to pay about $40,000 for the state audit. A state audit of the village’s court system was completed in early 2018. The remainder of the audit is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

At the October meeting, the board appointed former trustee Frank Baumann to the seat vacated by Russell Wilson, the husband of Theresa Wilson. Russell Wilson was asked by the board to resign at a special meeting in September. At first he refused to do so, but emailed a resignation letter the next day.
