In the Lady Blue Jays’ latest season that ended as district championship runner-up the West Platte volleyball team had five players earn postseason awards, while North Platte junior libero Kylee Sipes set program records.
Sipes was the only Lady Panther to end the fall with postseason honors, being an All-Conference and All-District Honorable Mention. The junior broke the school record with 719 serves received and 345 digs in a season as Sipes also had 25 assists, 16 aces and 15 kills in 77 sets.
For West Platte, Arianna Nower was a unanimous first team selection in the KCI Conference and a first team selection in the Class 2 District 8 Tournament. Nower finished the season with 252 kills, 142 digs, 83 aces, 18 blocks and 12 bocks.
Libby Vandel made the first team in the conference and the district while Maddison McMillan was a KCI Conference Second Team and the Class 2 District 8 Tournament Second Team selection. Vandel ended her senior campaign with 278 kills, 228 digs, 47 blocks and 63 aces as McMillan finished the year with a team-high 731 assists, along with 179 digs, 58 aces, 27 kills and 21 blocks.
Ahlanna Rutherford and Avery Holmes were both KCI Conference Honorable Mentions, and Rutherford also had that award in districts. Rutherford had 250 digs, 152 kills and 35 aces and Holmes had 292 digs, 26 kills and 26 aces.
