The Trojans had more than the regular homecoming traditions to celebrate on Friday, Sept. 17, as the Park Hill football team came out and dominated Blue Springs to a 50-0 victory.
Park Hill’s homecoming started off slow with only one touchdown in the first quarter before the Trojan offense erupted in the second quarter. After a rushing touchdown in the opening seven minutes of the contest, Kedrick Bell threw four touchdown passes in the second quarter to help give Park Hill a 33-0 lead at the break.
Marqueas Bell got the ball rolling with a 6-yard receiving touchdown and that was followed by Jake Powell bringing in two scores for Park Hill. James Noel capped off the impressive quarter with a 2-yard touchdown reception with two seconds remaining in the first half.
Bell continued to dominate in his best career start as the Trojans’ starting quarterback when the junior rushed in for a 12-yard score in the third quarter to give him six total touchdowns on the night. Noel scored the last touchdown of the game with 5:06 remaining in the third quarter with a 16-yard carry and Scotty Robertson connected on a 31-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to give Park Hill a season-high 50 points.
Bell completed 22 of his 29 pass attempts for 191 yards and four touchdowns, along with 42 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns on the ground. Noel was the Trojans’ leading rusher as the junior ended with 91 yards on 13 attempts for one touchdown, in addition to six receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Powell also brought in six catches and he ended the night with a team-high two touchdowns and 84 yards. This victory gives the Trojans their third straight win and they are set to take on Lee’s Summit this Friday, Sept. 24.
