Park Hill senior swimmer Jack Stanley ends his high school career with three medals in the 100-yard backstroke, including an eighth-place finish this season at the Missouri Class 2 Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, Nov. 15, at St. Peter’s Rec-Plex.
Stanley also collected medals in the event in 2023 and 2022. Stanley finished eighth during his sophomore season and finished sixth last year. In his freshman season, Stanley finished 11th at the State Championships.
Stanley was the only Trojans’ swimmer to compete in a championship race in the Class 2 event. The Trojans’ 400-yard freestyle relay team of Stanley, senior Elijah Osborne, junior Jack Vaden, and junior Richard Hoover finished 14th.
Stanley just missed the cut in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing 18th during the preliminary round. Stanley also qualified for the 100-yard butterfly event but was disqualified during the preliminary race.
Vaden finished 25th in the 200-yard freestyle event. Osborne finished 20th in the preliminary race of the 50-yard freestyle, and he finished 22nd in the preliminaries of the 100-yard backstroke. The Trojans’ 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Roman Waters, sophomore Brady Scamman, Hoover, and Vaden missed the cut, finishing 18th during the preliminary round.
