The Park Hill Board of Education is slated to discuss school start times and busing plans at its meeting this week, with a final vote expected by the end of the month.
The board recently heard the report of the start times recommendation committee, which recently narrowed scenarios to three final options. The committee recommendations are available online at parkhilllistens.com.
The board will discuss these recommendations at the meeting starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the district administration center.
Current school hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2:38 p.m. for high schools; 7:35 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for middle schools; and 8:40 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for elementary schools.
In the blue plan, high schools would be in session from 7:15 a.m. to 2:23 p.m.; middle schools, either 7:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m. or 8:23 a.m. to 3:18 p.m.; and elementary schools would range from 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. to 9:25 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
In the orange plan, high schools would run from 8:15 a.m. to 3:23 p.m.; middle schools from 7:33 a.m. to 2:28 p.m.; and elementary schools would be in session during a range of times starting with 8:33 a.m. to 3:23 p.m. to 9:28 a.m. to 4:18 p.m.
In the yellow plan, high school is 7:50 a.m. to 2:58 p.m.; middle schools would run from either 7:15 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. or 8:10 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.; and elementary schools from times ranging from 8:15 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. to 9:10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
