West Platte competed in its season opening event Wednesday, Aug. 24 in Cleveland, Mo. at the unique Cass-Midway 2-Mile.
The Bluejays only brought a boys team with the members of the girls team participating in other sports at this point in the season. Kansas City Lutheran won the meet with 33 points.
West Platte ended up with a 49 total behind Max Davies (fourth place, 11 minutes, 37 seconds) and Andy Cicha (fifth, 11:52). Phillip Pattison turned in a strong ninth-place effort at 12:10, while Wyatt Kleman made his varsity debut.
