Wet golfing conditions put damper on early season

Park Hill South’s Drew Hurley was bundled up with the cold conditions in Park Hill’s home meet at Tiffany Greens Golf Course on April 7.

Cold and windy conditions have become a too often occurrence in the early spring season for the Park Hill and Park Hill South boys’ golf teams.

Despite the tough setting, Park Hill South was 10 strokes behind first place Lee’s Summit West when the Panthers ended in fourth place with 331 strokes at the Darren Floyd Memorial on April 7. Park Hill finished in seventh place out of 14 teams with 347 strokes at Tiffany Greens Golf Course.

Park Hill’s Baker Fredal and Park Hill South’s Drew Hurley had nice outings, tying for sixth place when they both shot a 79. Keegan Feder wasn’t too far behind when the Panther tied for 15th place with 83 strokes.

Trojan freshman Zach Cato and Panther senior Evan Jones ended in a five-way tie for 19th place when they finished with 84 strokes. Park Hill South’s Jack McNearney finished with 85 strokes and Lucas Nichols ended with 87 strokes, while Park Hill’s Ethan Howell shot an 89 and Andy Fredal ended with 95 strokes.
