Wills, Canchola lead the Park Hill South runners

Freshman Emily Wills and junior Kayla Canchola were the top finishers for the Park Hill South girls’ cross-country team at the Raymore-Peculiar Invitational on Sept. 11.

Finishing in 15th place in the Class 4-5 Division, Park Hill South relied on the freshman to be the first Panther to cross the finish line. Wills ended with a 23:05 time to earn her 67th place.

Not far behind was the junior in 71st place. Canchola ended with a time of 23:18.

The next three finishers for the Panthers were in a pack as Macy Strobel, Natalie Tomanio and Kathryn Colvin finished within five spots of each other. Strobel was the first of the trio as she ended in 78th place at 23:44.

Tomanio finished in 79th place with a time of 23:45. Colvin ran the race in 24:01, ending 82nd.

Park Hill South’s next cross-country meet will be at Lee’s Summit North on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 18.
