Kansas City submits bids for the opportunity to host NCAA Championships

The Greater Kansas City Sports Commission, in cooperation with multiple bid partners, has submitted several bids to host NCAA championships between the 2022-23 to 2025-26 academic calendar.

The NCAA requested that bids be submitted by Feb. 3 and championships are scheduled to be awarded and announced on October 23rd.

The Greater Kansas City Sports Commission submitted 28 total bids to host events across a variety of sports including Division I Men’s Basketball, Division I & II Women’s Volleyball Championships, Women’s Bowling Championship, Men’s & Women’s Gymnastics Championships and Division I Wrestling Championships.     

Kansas City is a seasoned championship host that offers ease of accessibility, warm midwestern hospitality, abounding innovation & valuable experience.  In 2013, Kansas City was awarded more championships than any other city in the country to be hosted between the years 2014 and 2018.

The Greater Kansas City Sports Commission, in partnership with William Jewell College, has already been selected by the NCAA Division II Championships Committee to serve as hosts for the 2021 Men’s NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Central/Midwest Regional (May 6 – 8, 2021), and the 2022 Division II Women’s Golf East Regional (May 2 – 4, 2022). Both Regional Championships will be held at Shoal Creek Golf Course.
