The 23rd annual North Platte Invitational commences on Monday, Jan. 27 and runs to Saturday, Feb. 1.
The boys tournament features Mid-Buchanan as the top seed, but the bracket features a Class 2 semifinalist in Plattsburg (No. 4 seed), while the lower half of the bracket has Platte Valley, No. 3 in Class 1, facing the host Panthers at 8:15 p.m. on Jan. 27. Earlier that day, West Platte plays Mound City, ranked No. 4 in Class 1, at 5:45 p.m.
The boys consolation games are Wednesday and Friday, with the semifinal on Thursday and finals and third-place game on Friday.
The girls bracket features no ranked team, but third seed Mid-Buchanan was a state semifinalist last year.
West Platte is the eight seed and will play No. 1 seed Platte Valley at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27. North Platte plays Polo at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 in another first-round game.
The consolation bracket for the girls will be Wednesday and Friday as well, while the semifinals will be on Thursday and winner’s bracket games on Saturday.
There are no seventh-place games.
