The Platte County R-3 School District Hall of Fame will induct three new members at the winter athletic signing ceremony, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28, in the Wilson Auditorium at Platte County High School.
This year's inductees are: the late Terry Michael, Zac Wegner and Joshua Hulett.
Michael, who died in April 2019, was a former Platte County football coach, before getting into administration roles and ending as an assistant superintendent. He retired in 1999.
Wegner is a 1995 graduate from PCHS that went to Kansas, where he was a starting quarterback for the Jayhawks and was team captain for three years. Only two other players have had that distinction at KU, but Wegner was the first from 1998 to 2000. Banks Floodman and Joe Dineen also matched that mark.
He currently lives in Des Moines.
Hulett is a 1996 graduate and, like Wegner, was a multisport athlete for Platte County.
Hulett was a standout for the swimming team and was on the first boys team in 1994. He was the school record holder in the 100-yard breaststroke from 1996 to 2017.
He later flew for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He is currently a commercial aviator for United. His children attend the Platte County R-3 School District.
