The Platte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 61-year-old white male who was found Friday morning in the area of an overturned boat in the flooded area near Bean Lake, north of Weston.
Ronnie Baker was identified as the deceased. An official cause of death is still pending but it likely was drowning, according to officials.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office received a call on the evening of Thursday, March 28, from the family of a man who lived in the area, advising that they were unable to contact the party. Attempts to locate the party that evening were unsuccessful.
During a search of the flooded area near Bean Lake, an overturned boat and a deceased party were found at approximately 11 a.m. Friday, March 29.
The sheriff’s office does not believe that foul play was involved in the death. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Marine Division assisted in the investigation.
