Park Hill’s season opener featured the first major action for Kayla Huffman. The Trojans sophomore setter recorded 17 assists in a two-set loss against Lee’s Summit, Monday, Aug. 24 at Lee’s Summit High School in Lee’s Summit, Mo. The Tigers won both sets 25-18.
Park Hill senior Gabby Sweeney, the Trojans leader in kills last year with 115, recorded nine kills. She and junior Chelsea Edward both recorded five digs in the first match without standout libero Olivia Nowakowski – now playing collegiately at Northwest Missouri State University.
Huffman led the team defensively with nine digs.
