Tyler Pisoni scored both goals, including the golden goal winner 2 minutes before the end of extra time, lifting Park Hill South to a 2-1 win Monday, Aug. 24 at Park Hill District Soccer Complex in Riverside, Mo. Oak Park took a 1-0 lead on counter breakaway, and that held up deep into the second half. With about 20 minutes left in regulation, Nylo Clarke created a turnover, and Danny Gunderson carried the ball into the 18-yard box before finding Pisoni on the right side to slot home past Oak Park goalkeeper Jose Camberos.
Another turnover in the second half of stoppage time led to the winner with Camberos stopping Pisoni’s initial shot before he buried the rebound for the dramatic winner.
Park Hill South goalkeeper Evan Morrow made seven saves to earn the win.
Park Hill 1, Liberty North 0
A first-half goal held up for Park Hill on Saturday, Aug. 22, sending the Trojans into the winner’s half of the Liberty Kickoff Classic bracket. They were scheduled to play Lee’s Summit North on Tuesday, Aug. 25 in one of two semifinals with the winners advancing to the title game on Thursday, Aug. 27.

Park Hill opened the tournament with a a combined shutout from Payton LaFerla (four saves) and Stefan Derra (two saves). Chris Munoz, a freshman, supplied the offense, knocking in a right-footed shot in the 30th minute off a cross from Felipe Silva.
