Business as usual, featuring several appointments, was conducted at the Monday meeting of the Platte County Commission.

Commissioners met Monday, June 5 for both their regular session and a special meeting, both held at the Platte County Administration Building in Platte City.

Presiding Commissioner Scott Fricker was appointed to the KCI Corridor TIF Advisory Committee, the Platte Purchase TIF Advisory Committee, the Mid-America Regional Council Active Transportation Programming Committee and the Missouri STP Priorities Committee.

District Commissioner Dagmar Wood and Brian Johanning were appointed as alternate members of the two TIF committees.

Also appointed was Michael Lazio, who was re-appointed to serve on the Mid-Continent Public Library Board.

Several stormwater grants were also awarded, going to the Walnut Creek South Homes Association for park stormwater system repair, $35,133; Walnut Creek South Homes Associaion for Raintree drainage improvement, $57,852; Weatherby Lake Improvement Company, $17,900; Venetian Gardens Homes Association, $2,208; Villas of Platte Valley Estates, $22,575; and Wales Enterprises, $15,873.

At the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) meeting, held just after the regular commission session, the county approved an agreement between the county and George Butler Associates for further breakdown of projects to be funded through federal ARPA funds.

Commissioners also approved an agreement with GovBuilt, at about $157,000, to update the 10-year-old county website to make it more user friendly and interactive, allowing residents to do their business remotely.

Additionally, it will update the county’s planning and zoning and permitting software.

An agreement for digitization of county documents through the Recorder of Deeds office, at a cost of approximately $651,000, was tabled.
