Platte County will partner with Platte City for long-awaited improvements to Highway 92 east of Interstate 29.
Highway 92 will be widened and modernized from I-29 east to Interurban Road.
The $16.8 million project will be funded through the Missouri Department of Transportation, which will pick up about half the cost. The Mid-America Regional Council, City of Platte City, Platte County, Platte County Road District and others, including developer Hunt Midwest, will fund the project. Platte County will contribute $2.5 million to the project.
“I think for the area as a whole this is a great project and shows what can happen when entities come together,” said Platte County Director of Public Works Bob Heim, praising Platte City for its forward-thinking project incentive.
