Design work approved

Work continues to prepare the Platte County Resource Center for conversion into the new Platte County Sheriff’s Office.

At the special ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) meeting held last week, Platte County commissioners approved $27,000 in design work with George Butler and Associates in part for projects at the resource center, located in Kansas City near KCI Airport.

Of the total, $7,000 is allocated to design new landscaping and concrete work for the front entrance of the old resource center building. The remaining $20,000 will cover window replacement and design as well as project management for work in the Platte County Administration Center in Platte City.

At the Platte County Commission’s administrative session last week, commissioners approved a contract agreement with Unite Private Networks for $4,128 for fiber internet upgrade work at the Platte County Resource Center.
