A St. Joseph woman died in a crash on Interstate 29 near Camden Point last week.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Shelby Peterman, 27, died as the result of a crash around noon Friday, Sept. 18 on southbound I-29 at the 23 mile marker. The crash is still under investigation, but involved four vehicles. Two young children sustained minor injuries and a 72-year-old Kansas City woman was transported with moderate injuries.
A Ford pickup driven by a 22-year-old Bolivar, Mo. man struck the three other vehicles – a Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Impala and Lincoln MKZ. Peterman was transported to North Kansas City Hospital, where she was pronounced dead later that day.
The interstate was closed for several hours due to the investigation and cleanup effort.
