Motorists are encouraged to look for posted detour routes while this project is under way. There are multiple interstate detours available. For southbound I-29 traffic, motorists can take eastbound 152, to southbound 169, and back to I-29.

This is all part of a multiple I-29 bridge replacement project. MoDOT will replace the I-29 over 56th Street bridge and the I-29 and Waukomis Drive bridge. The overall goal of this project is to provide two new and safer bridges. The replacement of the Waukomis Drive Bridge will take place in 2022.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. For more information about MoDOT news, projects or events, please visit modot.org/kansascity. For instant updates, follow MoDOT_KC on Twitter, or share posts and comments on Facebook at facebook.com/MoDOT.KansasCity.
