Kincheloe wins individual title, Platte County wins Pirate Invite

PLATTE CITY – All three golf teams from Platte County competed in the Pirate Invitational with Park Hill coming out on top out of 12 teams at Shiloh Springs Golf Course on Aug. 30.

Park Hill came away in first place with 327 points and Platte County took third place with 373 points. Park Hill South took seventh place with 430 points and Platte County’s JV ended with 478 strokes, good for 10th place.

Makenna Kincheloe came away with a first-place finish overall as the Lady Trojan ended with 72 strokes. Teammate Reagan Bell wasn’t far behind – taking fifth place with 81 strokes – while Kate Martorana and Rhea Akula finished in back-to-back places to round up the top-8.

Platte County junior Ella Green and senior Lilly Ricketts both finished in the top-6. Green finished in fourth place with 78 strokes and Ricketts took sixth place with 84 strokes.

Mac Borland had 94 strokes in 12th place, Izzie Grell had 117 strokes in 39th place and Macie Garland had 120 strokes in 45th place. For the Lady Pirates’ JV, Erin Anderson and Grace Handke were the top finishers, taking 36th and 39th places.

Park Hill South’s best three golfers finished tight together with Addie Grimm and Paige Farmer tying in 23rd place and Natalie Dunoway being right behind them. The Lady Panther duo both had 104 strokes and Dunoway had 105 strokes.

Zella Berberial finished with 117 strokes and Leah Steitz had 120 strokes to close out the day for Park Hill South. Platte County and Park Hill South are both competing at Winterstone Golf Course on Sept. 6.
